Dance or Pray?
The Artwork:
The body doesn't always know which it's doing.
Dance or Pray? gathers seven genderless red figures into a circle on a deep, grounded ground. Their postures could be ritual or celebration — arms lifted, bodies bent, gestures borrowed from temples and tavernas alike. The question is the point.
Eastern in its visual language, universal in its feeling, this piece sits in the space where joy and reverence become indistinguishable. The figures are bound but not constrained. Together but separate. Moving toward something they may not be able to name.
Hang it where you want to be reminded that ecstasy and devotion are closer than they look.
