Fingerprint
The Artwork:
Fine black lines wind in slow, concentric loops — the way a fingerprint curls, the way a tree records its years, the way water ripples out from a single touch. They drift across orange suns and soft grey stones, overlapping, never quite closing, each cluster a small map that belongs to nowhere but itself. From a distance it reads as pattern. Up close, no two whorls are the same.
This is the quiet marvel the piece holds. A fingerprint is the most ordinary thing — every single person has one, billions of us, pressing the same ridged skin against the same world. And yet not one of those billions matches another. It is the perfect emblem of what it means to be human: we share almost everything — the same longings, the same fears, the same hands — and still, the particular swirl of you has never existed before and never will again. The universal and the unrepeatable, printed in the same small spiral.
You are made of the same things as everyone, arranged in a way that is only yours. Let this be a reminder that being like everyone and being utterly singular were never opposites — they are the same truth, read at different depths.
