Rules of the Game
The Artwork:
Someone wrote the rules. Nobody asked if we agreed.
Rules of the Game lays out a playing field in green, blue, yellow, and green — bands of color crossed by red arrows pointing in directions that don't quite add up. Small white shapes scatter across the surface like pieces mid-move. The composition is bright, almost cheerful. The meaning is quietly subversive.
This piece is about the games we play without ever signing up for them. The conventions, the social scripts, the directions everyone seems to know except us. It doesn't tell you to quit. It just reminds you that the arrows are someone else's.
You can still play. You can also draw your own map.
