The ground was not prepared for it. And still it rises — pale, luminous, insistent — pushing through the crowded dark toward a light it has only imagined.

This is the story of the seed that lands in the wrong place. Not the tidy garden, not the open field, but the crack in the wall, the shadow between other people's roots.
